Daniel Teerman,

Daniel has been in ministry for over 17 years serving as a missionary, educator and pastor.  Having led literally hundreds of people on mission/learning experiences around the world, he has experienced the healing and transformational ministry of Jesus in multiple contexts. He is a graduate of Kuyper College, Western Theological Seminary and has studied at Jerusalem University College.  He is the author of Where Do I Begin? and The Discipleship Coaching Journal.  After having been a part of 6 different church plants, Daniel and his wife, Sherry, have planted the discipleship movement called - the bridge - where they are teaching people how to follow the ancient ways of Jesus in their modern culture.  They have been married for over 20 years and are blessed with 4 children.

Roy Ackerman,

Pastor Roy Ackermann has been in full-time ministry for over 35 years after receiving his ordination into the Reformed Church of America in 1973. He has a diverse background from a degree in Engineering from the Milwaukee School of Engineering to his Masters of Divinity from Trinity Evangelical Divinity School.

His employment in the engineering field brought him to countries such as South Africa and Ghana West Africa during a four year period. He has also served as pastor in the following churches over the years: Trinity Community, Haven Reformed Church, and interim minister of Faith Reformed Church.

Roy is married to Mary and has four children and 10 grandchildren. His favorite sports teams are the Chicago Cubs, Green Bay Packers, and loves golf. Favorite Bible verse John 10:10 “I have come that you might have life abundantly”

Sherry Teerman,
Ministry Leader - Connections

Sherry is the Ministry Leader in the area of Connecting Ministries. She has a love for people and it is her goal that everyone who comes to the bridge finds a friend. She graduated from Calvin College with a Bachelor of Science in Sociology and Social Work and has been in ministry for over 15 years. She has been a youth leader, worship leader, missionary/educator on the island of Guam, and administrator.  

Sherry loves to read, enjoys singing, listening to music and spending time with Daniel, her husband and ministry partner since 1991, and their four children: Caleb, Hannah, Jada & Sophia.

Ryan Nienhuis

Ryan was born in Kalamazoo, grew up in Grand Rapids and returned to Kalamazoo to attend WMU. He graduated with a BA in secondary education history. Ryan's passion for ministry grew out of his involvement with Young Life in high school and then as a volunteer leader while in college. He continues to serve as the Young Life Kalamazoo Area Director as he has for the past 10 years. Ryan's partner in life - his wonderful wife Kara - and their son Landon, provide lots of fun and adventure. He and his family enjoy the outdoors through golf, skiing, fishing, biking, gardening....anything involving the outdoors and adventure! Ryan loves to invest into people, especially when it comes to the development of leaders. He is excited about the opportunities to develop disciples who will build bridges to the world for Jesus.

Stefanie Dyer,

Stefanie was born and raised in Byron Center, and moved to Kalamazoo to attend Western Michigan University. Throughout college Stefanie was involved in Campus Crusade for Christ, married her high school sweetheart, and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Secondary Education Mathematics. Shortly following her graduation from WMU, Stefanie began teaching math at Paw Paw High School. After a series of exciting changes in her life, Stefanie felt God calling her into ministry. She served as an intern at the Bridge throughout the summer of 2010 where she was able to meld her love for teaching and ministry. 

Stefanie is excited to be serving the Bridge as the YoungLife and WyldLife Youth Coordinator as well as the Curriculum Coordinator on the teaching staff!
